Orange you glad you checked my blog today :)

These flowers are so gorgeous! Ranunculus they are called. I imagine flower beds full of them when I learn to garden someday.

Lizard or flower? You decide....

Weird, I know. And who says pesticides have no effect on living things....come on now, a two headed gerbera daisy. Kind of looks like one of those running lizards that flairs it's face out.

Salmon Nicoise

The above photo is a photo I took of one of my favorite recipes for the summer, Salmon Nicoise. It is so amazingly delicious and fairly easy to do. You can add and subtract as you like. I highly recommend it. It is a great dinner/lunch party dish.

would the real miss th'ang please stand up........

Do you see it?........

Do you see the leaves changing colors? It's August 16th. Leaves changing colors?? I took this picture in our neighborhood over the weekend. wow......I LOVE summer. It's freedom, the extra room we have by going outside, it's unrestricted schedule, the time to go new places, not wear boots, etc.....Fall is real exciting around here too with birthdays, halloween, apple picking, leaf piles, etc... but then up next is prison....I mean winter. Now you know how I really feel. Maybe someday....I will fall in love with winter again.

S.W.T.P.O.T.B.A ?

So what's the point of this blog anyway? I'm not your meat and potaoes blogger, you know... let you in on my outside of blog life, my deepest thoughts and feelings. Nope. Just a little drive by blog like a piece of candy in a pretty depression glass bowl, perhaps a starlight mint or a butterscotch something or other. No....actually , more like a little tiny tic-tac. The blog you check before you check your real blogs, the BIG ones, the 20 million hits a month blogs. I'll just leave you pretty little pictures and little daily snip-its of observations of things I see.

Turns out

It was a nice day afterall. I couldn't be more grateful! Really!! Something from my 'garden' and those following will understand I use the term loosely.

SLight rain panic, Etsy shop

Anyone else have a slight panic when it rains? I mean, now what do we do today. Hmmmm, we'll just figure it out. Out the front door this morning, torrents of rain, I mean a deluge. Well at least a small, tiny deluge. Anyway, also check out my new Etsy shop. I have other products coming down the creative pipeline soon. They are up in my home, but just haven't been posted yet. Here is the link: www.etsy.com/shop/millsmade Be on the alert for a giveaway on my blog for a new product.

It's just so pretty...

It's just so pretty when the light comes streaming through the window like this. This is not my home. It is where we stayed on our vacation and this light was so pretty. That is a real honest to goodness log cabin, not from a kit but from logs harvested from that very spot some 50 or 60 years ago.

Do you see the poodle?

Do you see the poodle here? I know one special little lady who saw it. Clever, clever gurl (yes I know it is with an 'i'. It's just how we say it around here).

I'm not joking......

When I tell you that this was one of the neatest skies I have EVER seen. It was perhaps three weeks ago or so in the evening. Believe you me, I took a whole lot more pictures than I have here but I will not bore you to tears. It was really magnificent. Do you see the bird in one of these pictures? I mean a real one. Not the kind that kids see looking up at the Heavens. As the French would say Le Magnificant ( at least that is our families French version, help me out if you know otherwise and I'm sure you do)

I gotta tell ya'.......

I do not have a green thumb yet. I really want to. But I just don't know what I am doing yet nor do I have the time to really make my aquaintance with the myriad of gardening websites, books and clubs out there. I will someday so for now I put seeds in pots, in sunlight and add water. Not good, I know.....Anyway, here are me spoils from the tomato plant. It's laughable, I know. My harvest is two wee tomatoes. They are THE CUTEST tomatoes I ever did see. Below that you will see a picture of my garden and I use the term loosely, very loosely.

One more gorgeous flower

If that isn't the prettiest thing you've EVER seen I don't know what is. Honestly! Really! Love, it! Could you let me know what you think?

Another Kitchen Picture with the Green Cabinets

There it is again. The canary, yellow teapot. wow.

canary yellow teapot

Greatest teapot, EVER!! You can't tell, but it is. The inside is the deepest cobalt blue. Really brings me joy. It doesn't really match my kitchen, but I like it anyway.

War with the Dandelions

Now, how can I be at war with this lovely little thing?! But I am. Every year. I pull out many, I use chemicals ( I know tsk, tsk) but not much. The kids love 'em. Just when I think we have the problem licked, bamm, here comes another batch 'o wishers. ugh.....

Kitchen update

A lovely thing to do that is not very expensive but has a big impact is to paint your kitchen cabinets. Here is the before (right) and after(left)

Another Lovely, Lovely Flower

This was another lovely I found. Taken in the Adirondack region of New York. Lovely, delicate, luminous. Really lovely.

Good and Lovely

The good the bad and the ugly... and the lovely. This is the good. I like the good. I like to find lovely things. There are lots of ugly things that are not good or lovely. Good and lovely I like to find.
